Yesterday I signed a 6-month agreement to print at Slugfest, a print studio in East Austin. I pay "rent" to use the facility and in turn receive my own key and permission to print any time. It's not pricey, per se, but for someone that doesn't make a profit for art it's a little hard to justify. But I'm determined to make the 6-month trial worth it and plan to go 1-2 times per week.
This morning I applied Z Acryl to a copper plate that I haven't worked on in years. The initial image was done with softground and spit bite but needed some hardground work. The Z Acryl application doesn't look great. A little flaky here and there and I spotted a cat hair. Eww. We'll see how it etches on Friday.
