Good Little Project for a Rainy Day

How to Make a Foam Stamp. It's been raining for 24 hours. Yea!! I don't begrudge the rain after experiencing summer in Austin last year. Anyway, this is a fun project and will take one's mind off any rainy day blues.

For a Foam Stamp Pad, you will need
  • 8 1/2 x 11" sheet of craft foam--these cost maybe .50 a sheet at the hobby store.
  • Scissors
  • Scrap cardboard or foam core
  • Double stick tape
  • Dull pencil
  • Stamp pad (or ink with brayer)
Simple: cut out piece of foam and draw into it with a pencil. Using moderate pressure, draw your design with the pencil, keeping in mind when pressing foam stamp into the ink pad, these pencil marks will be too low to accept ink. Use double stick tape to tape stamp onto cardboard or foam core backing (optional, but it helps keep fingers clean), then stamp away! You can peel off the stamp and use the back side. You can cut the foam easily so branch out beyond the rectangle shape like I plan on doing next. Have fun!
