Fixing an error on a Linocut

I've had a linocut partially completed for years, loosing momentum after a cutting error. I'm participating in a Valentine trade through Women Printmakers of Austin, and decided to revive this plate by correcting the cutting errors with some wood putty. (The errors are straight lines, near the legs of the figures.)

I'm going to use the wood putty already in storage in our garage, so nothing special. First I'll tape off the areas I don't want puttied, then apply it with a putty knife. Once dry, I'll use a fine grit sandpaper to sand the puttied areas as a final step. So my next post will be, Did it work?
