I watched the documentary Sketches of Frank Gehry a couple of weeks ago, and I recommend it. Stepping outside my bubble to see what other people are working on, even in completely different medium like architecture, is important for my growth as a artist. I tend to be one of those people that tries to find the most efficient route while driving from A to B and it's infrequent that I stop and look at architecture. (What a shame! There is so much out there to enjoy!) I guarantee if you are the same kind rat in a maze driver, if you see even a glimpse of a Frank Gehry building, it will give you pause.
I saw Frank Gehry's work for the first time a few years ago on my Berlin/Prague trip. He was the architect for buildings in both cities and strangely enough, I needed to leave the country to find out about this American architect. If you've seen one of his buildings in person, I'd love for you to leave a comment about your impressions.
I may not post again until after T'giving since I'm lucky enough to be sharing it with family and friends. Yea! We're kicking things off with a ukulele jam tomorrow morning. (Big grin.) Have fun and be safe!
