I love Thanksgiving. It's so wonderful to really contemplate life and give credit where credit is due. I have to admit we do a ditty at dinner every night where we say what we're thankful for that day as we go around the table, but yesterday I spent a good part of the day thinking about how very thankful--and lucky--I am. This blog was started as a way to keep me energized about my artist life. If I felt as though I was reporting something about my studio practice, perhaps it would help me maintain a studio practice? It has.
Thank you readers! You've provided me with lots of encouraging emails over the year and I am thankful to have your support!

I've been meaning to post these images for weeks now. All of them are by Nancy Luton, an artist from Houston. Here's a suite of prints that include a bit of fabric--I believe a swatch of dress fabric that belonged to Nancy's mother.

Isn't this wonderful?

These are monoprints I believe were made in part with a stencil from paper dolls.

I really liked these next 2 pieces. They're not prints but collaged color studies made by cutting out magazine pages and overlapping them.

I love Nancy's work almost as much as I love her. That is saying a great deal. Thank you for posting her work.
Oh! That's so nice to hear about a special person like Nancy. I really, really liked looking at her work. I haven't seen much of it over the last couple of years since she's been less active in WPA. I'm so glad she's back into printmaking.
