Rock the Table Saw!

I should use a table saw everyday, because this is how I feel afterward. I am woman hear me roar!

Here's what the saw looks like when it's ready for action. It's easy to roll, even for me and I have chicken wings for arms.

What did I cut? I chopped up some Masonite for wood panel supports. You see, I'm wanting to glue my collages that are currently on paper onto panel. I coated the cut Massonite with 2 layers of gesso and then finished up with a layer of gel medium--my thought was once it was ready for gluing, the adhesive would dry slower on a layer of gel medium vs. gesso. (I'm still figuring things out, btw, not necessarily saying this is the way to go.) 

I had a tip from blog reader and artist Rebecca Warshaw on Jonathan Talbot's collage method of using an iron to fuse the collage to the panel (I ordered his book today...). I was also reading on Judy Paul's website yesterday that she uses birch for her panel--which I considered, but was thinking my 1/8" Birch plywood might be too thin and could warp. Any tips on panels or getting the collage to stick to the panel would be helpful, so if you have any, please let me know!
